Parents of Lakhwinder Singh Lakha, who is in police custody in connection with a drugs case, on Friday, claimed that Lakha was associated with the BJP and that he was not a drug smuggler. “My son has been made a scapegoat. He is a victim of political rivalry between a few BJP leaders and we are very unhappy about it,” said Balbir Singh, Lakha’s father.
The police claim that Lakha is an agent who tried to get the charges against one Amritpal and his family dropped. He was produced in court on Friday, which remanded him to in three days police custody.
