A day after Aamir Khan attended the trailer launch of Gippy Grewal’s upcoming movie Carry on Jatta, internet was awash with photos of a get-together at the actor’s home that was attended by the film’s cast, stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma with his wife Ginni and songwriter Jaani.
Gippy Grewal, in an interview with indianexpress.com shared that Aamir Khan, after attending Punjabi film Carry On Jatta 3’s trailer launch on Tuesday invited the whole cast of the film home for dinner.
Gippy said, “Aamir bhai is like a big brother and we have been in touch since the time he shot Dangal in Chandigarh in 2015-2016. Apart from films we also discuss life and he shares a lot of insights. He was too sweet to invite us home for dinner. He asked all of us to come home and we spoke a lot, discussed our film, he was very warm and welcoming,” Gippy added.

Gippy’s son Gurfateh was also supposed to play a young Laal Singh in the film. Gippy calls Aamir a great friend and shared, “When Aamir Bhai was shooting Dangal, around the same time I was shooting my first directorial Ardaas, I had requested him to come to my set to give a clap. He was sweet enough to make the time to come to do it. He did it and had told me to let him know if there is any role for him in a Punjabi film, that he would do a cameo as well. We are friends, if I wanted I could have asked him to do a cameo in Carry On Jatta 3 as well. However, I don’t want to bring him to do a role in a film because of our friendship, I want to go to him with a good story when he has a good role. I want him to then say yes, not just use our friendship for work.”
